Prof. Dr. Barbara CAMPANINI
Prof. Campanini is Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Food and Drug Department, University of Parma. She holds a Master Degree in Medicinal Chemistry and a Doctoral Degree in Molecular Biology and Pathology. She has been studying enzymes involved in cysteine metabolism in enteric bacteria, their interaction and regulation for 20 years. More recently she started working on the potential exploitation of these enzymes as targets for enhancers of antimicrobial chemotherapy. She is presently involved in the characterization of proteins responsible for iron uptake in S. aureus and their exploitation as potential drug targets.
